The Most Important Part of Vision Sunday

Wow!! What an amazing Sunday we enjoyed last week!

It was SO great to see everyone, to welcome visitors, to celebrate the baptism of one of our Family, to celebrate everything that God has done through Restore in the last 7 years, and to boldly lay out a vision for the path ahead.

Now comes the hard part…to walk it out.

Sundays like last week are such a valuable part of our journey together with God. They encourage us, inspire us, and point us in the right direction for our journey. But if there is no ACTION that follows, then the Vision Sundays, as great as they are, don’t really mean anything.

Last Sunday, we were reminded that God has used Restore to concretely impact the lives of thousands of people and families in our community and beyond. Restore is actively growing God’s Kingdom in all parts of Arkansas, and He has plans to grow His Kingdom even more in the years to come.

We were also reminded that we STILL live in a world where people are held captive by the toxic and destructive forces of Sin in their lives; and now more than ever, God is calling all of us to get out of the Church buildings and into the lives of the people around us as instruments of love, redemption, and grace.

The truth is, all of us can find a million reasons why it would be easier to do nothing, to change nothing, to keep living life the way we have always been doing. The Enemy would love nothing more than to keep all of us complacent, scared, and lazy; because then we and everyone around us would stay prisoners to his lies and his darkness.

And make no mistake, the Enemy will do everything in his power to discourage you, to get you to quit, to lie to you and try to convince you that God’s promises and faithfulness will let you down. He will distract you with things that seem more important, and he will appeal to all of your weaknesses and insecurities. Just as long as you’re doing nothing, he wins.

So, I want to plead with all of you….don’t let him win! The most important part of Vision Sunday starts now. It starts with all of us resolving absolutely that we will not listen to the lies of the Enemy. We will show up, we will pray, we will give even when it’s hard, we will get out of our comfort zone, we will love others, we will serve others, we will trust in God’s provision, and we will fearlessly walk the path that God calls us to.

I cannot express in words how excited I am to be on this journey with all of you, and how much I am looking forward to watching and participating in everything that God will do through all of us in the days, weeks, months, and years to come. The journey begins now!
