What We Believe

At Restore we strive to bring the beauty of the Gospel into the conversation by authentically loving, humbly serving, and boldly speaking for Jesus to all people, in all places, at all times. That’s our official mission statement. In short, it means that the most important thing about us is…Jesus. In everything we do we adhere to three basic core values: We Are All Broken; God Loves Everyone; God Uses All People.

What is a Church Plant?

Restore turned from dream to reality in July of 2016 when Clint and Kat Burns moved to Brookland, AR. Restore first began as a small group Bible study meeting in the Burns’ home in September of 2016. Restore opened its doors to the community in January 2017. These few families began to grow into what is now a healthy, diverse and multiplying church that continues to meet each Sunday.

Core Values

First, all human beings are broken. Maybe this doesn’t sound very nice, but we believe it to be true. It doesn’t matter where you live, how much money you have, how much education you have, or what football team you cheer for – you are a flawed and imperfect person. Everyone struggles with anger, sadness, greed, lust, guilt, shame, apathy, or bitterness in some form or another. We approach all human relationships with that awareness. No one is perfect; that includes us. Thankfully, our story doesn’t end there.

Second, God desires all people to live within a life-giving relationship with Him. We are all broken and flawed creatures, but our Creator didn’t make us that way; and He doesn’t want us to stay that way. Without piling up a long list of scriptures or theological “church words”, we believe that the whole witness of Scripture points to the unmistakable truth that God loves EVERYONE, and that He desires for the ones that He created and loved to be restored into a relationship with Him.

Third, God uses us – His Church – as a way to restore all people back to Himself. The most beautiful and life-giving parts of human life are not found in a list of rules or empty rituals, but rather in intimate and safe community. It is through these things – and more – that we experience God’s love and presence. Our mission as His Church is not to enforce a set of rules or practice empty rituals. Instead, we believe it is to be conduits of God’s love through our lives, actions, and words.
