Restore Staff

Have you ever had a dream that took hold of your heart? Being a pastor is something that I have felt called to do since I was six years old. From Texas to Oklahoma and now to Northeast Arkansas, following that dream has taken me many different places. Following Jesus has never been boring, but has been the most beautiful and exciting journey that I could be on. My great passions are loving my wife, Kat, being a father to Graham, and making disciples.

We were both born and raised in Texas and grew up attending church every time the doors were open. We began dating in high school (cue the cheesy music), graduated from Abilene Christian University and got married in 2004. We’ve been in ministry together for over 20 years, but our greatest gift, Graham, was born in 2011. We enjoy watching sports, traveling together as a family, keeping an eye on our mischievous dog, Chester, and experiencing God’s faithfulness.

When Clint came to me in 2015 and said, “We’re going to plant a church,” my response was, “who’s we?” Church plating was never on my radar, but with prayer and a little convincing, Clint and I moved to Brookland, AR in 2016 to plant Restore Church. Planting a church has been and continues to be the most faith building experience of my life. During the week you’ll find me as a Special Education Kindergarten teacher and cheering loudly for my favorite baseball player, Graham.

Church for me was always just a thing I did because my family did it. Growing up in church, I honestly don’t remember any of the Bible verses, however, I do remember the effort of my leaders and the fun we had together. My fondest memory of church was playing basketball on Wednesday nights with the youth group. This is why I believe that the primary focus of our 4:12 youth group should be based on relationships made with each other in hopes of growing God’s kingdom together. I’m a finance analyst by day, a typical guy who has said, “yes,” to God’s calling in my life.

We are a blended family of five with three kids that range in age from 10-18. We believe that our greatest gift is the ability God gave us to be real people, doing real life. We believe our responsibility is to prepare our 4:12 kids to apply the principals of the Bible beyond the comfort of the church building. When these students get out into the real world, we want them to stand strong on their foundations of faith and be the light in a dark world.

As a child and young adult, I was in and out of church constantly. It wasn't until I became a mother and an adult myself that I realized I had a passion for teaching the younger generations what I had missed in my childhood. That's what I love most about 4:12 Youth. I am blessed to lay the foundation of faith to a generation that's hungry for it. During the week, you'll find me serving children as a Speech and Language Pathologist and enjoying life with Johnny and my family.

It’s not very often something as simple as an invitation to dinner sends your life on a different trajectory, but that’s exactly what happened for me. For most of my life, I grew up attending church every now and then. It wasn’t until that dinner invitation in 2016 that I began to learn that church wasn’t just a building, but rather a loving community that could uplift and encourage me. As far as music goes, I had always been drawn to it, but didn’t pick up a guitar until 2018. Slowly, I began teaching myself to play and found that music was a way I could experience God even more. On March 8, 2020, I sang my first song at Restore and haven’t looked back since!

Worship & Children's Pastors

Jake is a native of Brookland and Amber grew up in Illinois, but found her way to Arkansas when she was a teenager. We began dating in high school and the rest is history! We have two children, Gavin and McKinley. McKinley was born shortly after Restore was planted so it’s always fun to watch her and the church grow simultaneously. Helping plant Restore has shaped us into the people we are today and we are grateful for the chance to minister to our community.

Growing up, I never really attended church, but as a young adult, I knew I wanted to raise my kids to know Jesus. Thankfully, in 2016 I asked my husband, Jake, if he wanted to go have dinner with a new friend of mine that was planting a church. Fully expecting him to say no, he actually said yes only because he knew there would be food involved! That three letter word has been the foundation of our faith. From that day forward, we have continued to say, “yes!” Since that day in 2016, I have earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and now serve as Restore’s Children’s Pastor.
